Soft oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- brown sugar, firmly packed - 3/4 c
- oatmeal - 3 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- 2 1/2 sticks margarine, softened
How to make soft oatmeal cookies:
Heat oven to 375°. Beat margarine and sugar until creamy. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Mix well. Add egg and vanilla. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheet, 8 to 9 minutes for chewy cookie; 10 to 11 minutes for crisp cookie.
