Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- raisins - 1 c
- quick cooking oats
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts if desired - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cookies:
Heat oven to 375°. Mix all ingredients, except oats, flour and raisins. Stir in oats, flour and raisins. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 2-inches apart, onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, about 10 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.Note: If using self-rising flour, omit salt, baking soda and baking powder.
