sugar - 1 c
cinnamon - 1 tsp
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
flour - 2 c
nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
chopped walnuts - 1 c
raisins - 1 c
oatmeal - 2 c

How to make soft oatmeal cookies:

Boil raisins 10 minutes and drain reserving 5 tablespoons raisin juice. Add soda to 5 tablespoons raisin juice. Mix remaining ingredients, adding nuts and raisins last. Dip by spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
