Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cream of tartar - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour *
How to make snickerdoodles:
Heat oven to 400°. Mix thoroughly the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups of sugar and the eggs. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon. Roll balls in the mixture. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.*If using self-rising flour, omit cream of tartar, soda and salt.
