Snickerdoodles

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• cinnamon - 2 tsp
• eggs - 2 item
• butter or margarine - 1/2 c
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• soda - 1 tsp
• cream of tartar - 2 tsp
• all-purpose flour *

How to make snickerdoodles:

Heat oven to 400°. Mix thoroughly the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups of sugar and the eggs. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon. Roll balls in the mixture. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

*If using self-rising flour, omit cream of tartar, soda and salt.
