Shrimp and sausage jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- red pepper sauce - 1/2 tsp
- can chicken broth - 1 3/4
- tomato juice - 2 c
- chopped parsley - 1 item
- chopped green onion - 1/2 c
- rice
- shrimp - 1 lb
- large yellow onion, chopped - 1 item
- hot sausage - 1/4 lb
- chopped sweet green pepper - 1/2 c
- leaf savory, crumpled - 1/2 tsp
How to make shrimp and sausage jambalaya:
Saute onion, green pepper, celery and sausage in margarine in large pan for 5 minutes. Add rice and cook, stirring for one minute. Add tomato juice, chicken broth, salt, savory and pepper sauce. Bring to boil, then simmer until rice is almost done (about 10 minutes). Add shrimp and green onions until rice is done.
