Cajun shrimp stew
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sifted flour - 1/3 c
- margarine - 4 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- can chicken broth - 1 oz
- cooked rice - 3 c
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- can minced clams - 1 oz
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- leaf thyme, crumbled - 1/2 tsp
- liquid red pepper seasoning - 1/8 tsp
- can okra, drained - 1 lb
- can deveined shrimp, drained and rinsed - 1 oz
How to make cajun shrimp stew:
Saut?© celery, onion and garlic in margarine until soft in a kettle. Stir in flour, salt, thyme and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly. Stir in tomatoes, chicken broth, clams and liquid and red pepper seasoning. Continue cooking and stirring until mixture thickens and boils, about 1 minute. Add okra and shrimp; heat to boiling.
