Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • milk - 3 Tbsp
  • vanilla extract - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp

How to make shortbread cookies:

Cream the shortening, sugars, egg yolks, milk and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Chill for 1 hour. Roll out and cut. Bake on cookie sheet at 350° for 10 minutes.
