Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- cocoa
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- nuts - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick butter
How to make secret cake:
Icing:1 stick butter1/3 c. buttermilk1 c. nuts1 1/2 tsp. cocoa1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar and flour well. Bring butter, shortening, water and cocoa to a boil. Pour over the flour and sugar. Blend well. Add the remaining ingredients. Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan for 20 minutes at 400°.Icing: Boil butter, buttermilk and cocoa until slightly thick. Add nuts, powdered sugar and vanilla. Punch holes in cake with knife. Pour frosting over hot cake.
