Seafood okra gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- oil - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- salt to taste - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- cloves garlic, chopped - 3 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- crabmeat - 2 c
- oysters - 1 pt
- raw shrimp - 2 lb
- fresh okra, sliced - 2 lb
- hot water or more - 8 c
- crab boil liquid - 1 tsp
How to make seafood okra gumbo:
Saute the onion and okra in 1/4 cup oil until they are wilted. Add green pepper, celery and garlic; stir them until they are wilted. In a skillet, add 2 tablespoons oil with flour. Cook until brown. Add to okra mixture. Saute shrimp with remaining oil for about 10 minutes. Add shrimp, oysters, bay leaves, crab boil, salt, tomato sauce and water. Cook slowly for about 45 minutes. Remove from heat. Add crabmeat. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: One Dish meal, Gumbo, Stew.
