Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- hot water - 6 c
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped parsley - 1/2 c
- bay leaves - 5 item
- cooked rice - 1 item
- crab meat - 1 lb
- tomatoes - 1 qt
- to 3 cloves garlic - 2 item
- to 4 green onions, chopped - 3 item
- bell pepper, diced - 1 item
- oysters - 1 qt
- okra, sliced - 1 lb
- cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
- Creole seasoning to taste - 1 item
How to make seafood gumbo:
Brown butter and flour. Add onion, celery and pepper. Saute until light brown. Add okra and cook until okra is not ropey. Stir often. Add tomatoes, hot water, bay leaves, garlic and crab meat, in that order. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add shrimp, oysters, green onions and parsley. Season to taste.
