Sausage upside-down cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 2 1/2
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/3 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- sliced pitted ripe olives - 1/2 c
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- chopped green peppers - 1/3 c
- bulk pork sausage - 1 lb
- Cheddar cheese, in 1/2-inch cubes - 4 oz
How to make sausage upside-down cornbread:
Preheat oven to 400°. Cook sausage, onion and peppers in a skillet until sausage is brown and crumbly. Stir in flour; mix in the next 4 ingredients. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese and olives. Spread evenly in 9-inch square pan. Prepare muffin mix according to package directions; spread over sausage. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Let stand in pan for 5 minutes; loosen edges.
