Sausage strata
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- slices white bread - 6 item
- bulk sausage - 1 lb
How to make sausage strata:
Cook bulk sausage over medium heat until done. Pour out on paper towel and blot to remove grease. Tear 6 slices white bread (stale is fine) into cubes and place in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the bread with the cooked sausage. Sprinkle the sausage with 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese. Beat together eggs, milk, dry mustard and salt. Pour this over sausage mixture. Cover tightly and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, if desired. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Main dish, One Dish meal.
