Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- small onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- black pepper - 1/8 tsp
- celery - 1/2 tsp
- dill seed - 1/2 tsp
- bacon drippings - 3 Tbsp
- smoked sausage - 1 lb
- can sauerkraut - 1 item
- medium apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced - 1 item
How to make sausage skillet:
Rinse sauerkraut. In heavy medium size pan, heat bacon drippings and add onion to saute. Add remaining ingredients except sausage. Cover and cook slowly for 15 minutes or until apple slices are soft. Add quartered sausage and continue slowly cooking, covered, until sausage is heated through. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Beef sausage.
