Sausage breakfast casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 6 item
- 6 oz
- slices bread - 6 item
- 1 pt - 2 c
- bulk pork sausage - 1 lb
How to make sausage breakfast casserole:
Remove crust from bread; spread bread slices with butter. Place in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish and set aside. Cook sausage until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well. Spoon over bread slices; sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs, half and half and salt; mix well and pour over cheese. Cover casserole and chill overnight. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes or until set. Yields 10 servings.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
