Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • Bisquick - 3 c
  • 8 oz - 1 pkg
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
  • parsley flakes - 1/2 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 4 c
  • hamburger - 1 lb
  • pancake mix - 3/4 c
  • Cheddar cheese, grated - 8 oz
  • dried rosemary - 1/2 tsp
  • pork sausage - 1 lb
  • bulk sausage - 1 lb
  • Have sausage and hamburger at room temperature
  • Mix sausage and cheese thoroughly

How to make sausage balls:

Preheat oven to 350°. Have sausage and hamburger at room temperature. Mix in pancake mix, egg and grated cheese with hands. Form balls the size of a half dollar. Place balls on cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake 30 minutes or until brown. To serve, insert toothpick in each sausage ball. Arrange on a serving tray. Makes 24 to 30 balls.Variation 1:1 lb. pork sausage (hot or mild)8 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated3 c. Bisquick3 Tbsp. water Let sausage and cheese set out until softened. Mix sausage and cheese thoroughly. Add 1 cup Bisquick and 1 tablespoon water and mix well. Continue in the same way until all Bisquick and water have been added to sausage mixture. Roll into ball and bake 10 minutes at 400°. Best when served warm.Variation 2:2 c. Bisquick1 lb. pork sausage4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese1/2 tsp. dried rosemary1/2 tsp. parsley flakes Same oven temperature as first recipe and same method.
