Ingredients/Components

  • sour cream - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/3 c
  • grated carrots - 2 item
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • sage - 1 tsp
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1/4 3/4
  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • mushrooms - 1 c
  • hamburg - 2 lb
  • slices bread, soaked in water with excess water squeezed out - 5 item
  • Sauce: remaining mushroom soup

How to make salisbury steaks:

Sauce: remaining mushroom soup1/3 c. water1 c. mushrooms Mix together all ingredients except for sauce. Shape into oblong patties. Bake at 350° until done, about 1 hour. Drain off grease.

Mix ingredients for sauce together and pour over steaks and bake 15 minutes longer.
