Ingredients/Components

  • can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • mustard - 1 item
  • onion - 1 item
  • bacon - 1 item
  • dill pickles - 1 item
  • golden cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • thin cut round steak - 1 item

How to make rouladen:

Tenderize steak. Cut in triangles; spread with mustard, slice of onion, strip of bacon and slice of dill pickle. Roll and fasten with toothpick. Braise in hot skillet. Add water and save liquid. Remove toothpicks and put in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Pour soup and tomato sauce with reserved liquid over meat. Bake in oven at 325° to 350° for 1 hour or until tender. Serve over rice or noodles. Serves 6.
