Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 8 c
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • shortening - 2 Tbsp
  • lukewarm water - 1/4 c
  • cakes yeast - 2 item

How to make refrigerator rolls:

Mix boiling water, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon sugar. Add yeast to first mixture and then add beaten eggs. Stir in 4 cups flour and beat thoroughly. Stir in 4 more cups of flour. Do not knead!! May be kept for several days in the refrigerator if it is tightly covered. When ready to use, shape into rolls; stand in warm place until doubled in bulk.
