- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 2 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time. Make thick paste of cocoa and food coloring. Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour and salt together and add to creamed mixture.
