Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cream cheese - 8 oz
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- cooking oil - 2 c
- plain flour
- stick margarine or butter - 1 item
- bottle red food coloring - 1 oz
- Bake on a 1-inch deep baking sheet
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix all ingredients together with mixer on medium for 3 minutes. Bake on a 1-inch deep baking sheet. Line sheet with wax paper and butter to avoid sticking. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes. Cool completely and slice into 4 equal layers; stack.
