  • cream cheese - 8 oz
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • plain flour
  • nuts, chopped
  • Wesson oil
  • bottle red food coloring - 1/2 oz
  • Filling:1 box powdered sugar

How to make red velvet cake:

Filling:1 box powdered sugar8 oz. cream cheese1 stick margarine1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped1 tsp. vanilla Mix all together as any other cake. Beat well. Makes 3 layers. Preheat oven to 350°. Cook until done.

Icing: Cream together the cream cheese and butter. Add sugar. Add flavoring, then the nuts. Spread on layers.
