  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • red food coloring - 1 or
  • Crisco oil - 1 c
  • sweet milk - 1 c
  • Bake at 350° for 25 minutes

How to make red velvet cake:

Cream together first 3 ingredients, then add remaining ingredients. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.Icing:1/4 c. flour1 c. sweet milk1 c. sugar1/4 tsp. salt1 c. coconut Add milk and flour; heat until thickens. Set aside to cool. Add remaining ingredients to milk and flour mixture and one cup of nuts, if desired. Spread on cake.
