Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chicken broth
- salt optional - 1 tsp
- tomato paste - 1 Tbsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes undrained, cut up - 1 1/2
- to 3 dashes hot pepper sauce - 2 item
- converted brand rice - 1 c
How to make red rice:
Melt margarine in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan. Cook onion and green pepper in margarine until tender. Stir in rice; add remaining ingredients and blend lightly. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook over low heat until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. Yields 4 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Pasta, rice and grains, Rice.
