Raised glazed doughnuts
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- melted margarine
- shortening - 1/3 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- active dry yeast - 2 pkg
- scalded, cooled milk
How to make raised glazed doughnuts:
Glaze:1/3 c. melted margarine2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla4 tsp. warm water In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs and shortening. Stir in 2 cups flour. Beat with mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add the rest of the flour, one cup at a time. Mix until smooth. Cover; let rise until double (about 1 hour). Turn dough onto floured board and roll to 1/2-inch thick and cut. Place doughnuts on floured surface and let rise until doubled. Fry.Glaze: Mix margarine, powdered sugar, vanilla and water. Roll doughnuts in glaze.
