Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- hot water - 2 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- Heinz 57 sauce - 1/4 c
- uncooked elbow macaroni about 1 c - 4 oz
How to make quick skillet 57:
Cut tomatoes into bite sized pieces. Brown beef and onion in shortening. Drain excess fat. Stir in water, tomatoes, Heinz 57 sauce, salt, sugar and pepper. Add macaroni and mix well. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender. Garnish with minced parsley, if desired.
