- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- pumpkin - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- soft butter - 2 Tbsp
- sifted plain flour
How to make pumpkin bread:
Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Combine pumpkin, sugar, buttermilk and egg. Add the sifted dry ingredients and soft butter. Beat until well blended. Stir in nuts. Spread in a well-greased 4 x 8-inch loaf pan and two individual loaf pans. Bake the larger loaf for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350° or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Vegetables.
