Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 2/3 c
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- can pumpkin - 1 oz
- water - 2/3 c
- flour
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- salt
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- orange - 1 item
- chopped nuts - 2/3 c
- chopped raisins - 2/3 c
How to make pumpkin bread:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beating well. Add pumpkin and water. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and baking powder; add to pumpkin mixture.Remove seeds from orange after cutting it into sections (do not remove rind). Using a food processor, blender or grinder, grind orange and rind; add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins.
Pour into two well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pans and bake in a 350° oven for one hour. Makes two loaves.
