  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • Wesson oil - 1 c
  • sugar
  • vanilla, salt and soda - 1 tsp
  • prunes with juice cooked prunes - 1 c
  • nuts if desired - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice - 1 tsp
  • Filling:1 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • Karo - 1 Tbsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make prune cake:

Mix as you would any cake and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Filling:1 c. sugar1/2 tsp. soda1/2 c. butter2 c. buttermilk1 Tbsp. Karo1 tsp. vanilla Put all together in boiler, except butter. Add butter when done. Do not beat.
