- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- water
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- onion - 1/2 c
- beef broth - 3/4 c
- chuck pot roast beef - 3 lb
How to make pot roast:
In a Dutch oven, brown roast in hot oil. Combine water, broth, tomato sauce, onion, sugar, vinegar, salt, cinnamon, bay leaf, pepper and ginger. Pour over meat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. You can make good gravy with the drippings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Beef.
