Ingredients/Components

  • graham cracker crumbs - 1 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • flour - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • egg white - 1 item
  • poppy seed - 1/2 c
  • tsp salt - 1 item
  • tsp cream of tartar - 1/4 item
  • Tbsp corn starch - 2 item
  • Pat into 9 x 13 pan
  • 1/2 Tbsp gelatin in 1/4 c cold water - 1 item
  • salt and vanilla - 1 item

How to make poppy seed torte:

Make like pie crust. Pat into 9 x 13 pan. Bake 15 minutes at 325°.Topping:5 egg yolks, beaten1 c. sugar1 c. milk1 tsp salt1/2 c. poppy seed2 Tbsp corn starch1 1/2 Tbsp gelatin in 1/4 c cold water egg white1/4 c. sugar1/4 tsp cream of tartar salt and vanilla Fold all into custard. Put on top of crust. Serve with whipped cream.

Refrigerate until ready to use.
