Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter, melted - 1 Tbsp
- milk plus 2 Tbsp - 3/4 c
- flour all-purpose, sifted - 1 c
- butter for pan - 1 item
How to make popovers:
Sift flour and salt together and gradually add milk, beating with a wooden spoon to make a smooth batter. Beat eggs until light and add to batter. Add the melted butter and beat vigorously. Preheat oven to 450°. Butter 9 holes of a muffin pan or an equal number of custard cups. Let muffin pan or custard cups heat in the oven for 5 minutes. Then fill 2/3 full with batter and bake for 30 minutes. Lower heat to 350° and bake 10 minutes longer. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Rolls/biscuits.
