  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • whole cloves - 3 item
  • black peppercorns, crushed - 4 item
  • large red onions, very thinly sliced - 3 item
  • tarragon red wine vinegar - 1 c

How to make pickled red onions:

Place onions in a saucepan with the vinegar and enough cold water (about 1 cup) to cover. Add sugar, cloves and peppercorns. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes or until the onions are tender. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
