Persimmon cookies
Ingredients/Components
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- walnuts, chopped - 1 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cube butter or margarine - 1 item
- salt to taste - 1 item
- persimmons 3 medium size
- sugar less may be used, if desired - 1 c
- each: cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
How to make persimmon cookies:
Dissolve soda in persimmon pulp. Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add raisins to flour. Add egg to persimmon pulp. Add dry and moist ingredients alternately into persimmon pulp. Mix well. Drop by spoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for approximately 20 minutes. Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
