Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- margarine or butter - 1/3 c
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- finely chopped pecans - 2/3 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
- margarine or butter, melted - 1/4 c
How to make pecan tarts:
Beat together 1/3 cup butter, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a medium bowl until fluffy. Add egg yolk. Mix well. Stir in flour and salt. Press dough into twenty-four 1 3/4-inch muffin cup pan.Stir together remaining sugar and 1/4 cup melted butter in a small bowl. Stir in pecans, egg yolk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Place 1 rounded teaspoonful in each muffin cup.
Bake in a 350° oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden. Cool in pans on rack for 15 minutes. Makes 24.
