Pear mincemeat
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- raisins - 2 c
- cloves - 1 Tbsp
- ground allspice - 1 Tbsp
- oranges, cut into eighths - 2 item
- pears, peeled, cored and cut into eighths - 7 lb
- lemons, cut into eighths - 2 item
How to make pear mincemeat:
Using knife blade in food processor bowl, add 1 cup pears and process until finely chopped. Repeat with the rest of the fruit.Combine all the chopped fruit and all other ingredients in a Dutch oven. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Pour hot mixture into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Cover at once with metal lids and screw bands tight. Process in boiling water bath for 25 minutes.
