Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- tsp salt - 1/4 item
- cups milk - 2 item
- cup sugar - 2/3 item
- tsp vanilla - 1 item
- corn starch - 3 Tbsp
- baked 9-inch pie shell - 1 item
- cup powdered sugar - 1 item
- cup peanut butter - 1/2 item
- Cook corn starch, sugar, salt and milk in a double boiler until it begins to thicken; add slightly beaten egg yolks and vanilla
- Dash cream of tartar - 1 item
How to make peanut butter pie:
Mix sugar and peanut butter together until crumbly. Cook corn starch, sugar, salt and milk in a double boiler until it begins to thicken; add slightly beaten egg yolks and vanilla. Continue cooking until thick, stir constantly. Place crumb mixture in bottom of pie shell; add cream filling. Top with meringue. Bake at 350 until brown, 15 to 20 minutes.Meringue:1 egg white Dash cream of tartar1/4 tsp vanilla2 Tbsp. sugar Beat egg white, cream of tartar and vanilla to soft peaks.
