Peanut butter cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 3 c
• brown sugar - 1 c
• baking powder
• shortening - 1 c
• peanut butter - 1 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift in flour and baking powder; mix well. Shape into one-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Flatten with a fork. Bake in moderate oven at 375° for 10 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.

Pat Workman puts in 1 teaspoon baking soda instead of baking powder and also adds one 6-ounce package chocolate chips.
