Peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- raw peanuts - 2 c
How to make peanut brittle:
Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook slowly in a large pot to soft ball (230°). Add peanuts and salt; cook to hard crack (310°), stirring constantly. Add butter and soda. Stir to blend (will bubble up). Add vanilla; pour onto buttered cookie sheet. Pull out with a spoon or spatula. Cool. Break apart. Store in an airtight container.Blue Ribbon, Blue Rosette.
