  • sugar
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • margarine, softened - 1/4 c
  • sliced fresh or canned peaches - 4 c

How to make peach crisp:

Place peach slices in an 8-inch square pan. Cream margarine and 3/4 cup sugar. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Spoon mixture over fruit. Sift together remaining 1 cup sugar, nutmeg and cornstarch; sprinkle over batter. Pour water over top. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes. Serve with whipped topping or ice cream. Yield: 6 servings.
