  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 heaping
  • flour - 1 item
  • butter - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • vinegar - 2 tsp
  • Crisco
  • Add egg

How to make cottage pudding cake:

Mix sugar and Crisco. Add egg. Sift together about 1/2 cup flour with baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg. Add alternately with milk. Add more flour until batter is heavy enough to stand in peaks. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake 35 to 40 min
