Ingredients/Components
- water - 3 qt
- medium onion - 1 item
- pinch of garlic salt - 1 item
- salt pork or ham bone - 1/2 lb
- yellow or green dry peas - 1 lb
- to 2 carrots, cut small - 1 item
How to make pea soup:
Bring peas to a boil with salt pork. Add onion, garlic salt and carrots. Simmer 2 to 3 hours, until peas are completely disintegrated. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove salt pork.Recipe categories: Weeknight, Vegetables, Soups & stews.
