Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • eggs, separated - 4 item
  • whipped cream - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 4 Tbsp
  • white vinegar - 1 tsp

How to make pavlova:

Bring egg whites to room temperature. Beat until they are really stiff; they look dry. Mix together sugar and cornstarch. Add to egg whites and mix in very fast. Add vinegar and beat only enough to mix. Form mixture in a mounded circle on aluminum foil, greased very lightly. Flatten top. Heat oven to 300°, turn down to 225°; bake for 45 minutes. Turn oven off for 30 minutes; do not open during this time. Turn upside down on plate.

Mix egg yolks with sugar and lemon juice. Cook in double boiler until thick. Spread on Pavlova. Cover with whipped cream. A dessert from New Zealand!
