Orange slice cake
Ingredients/Components
- orange slices, cut up - 1 lb
- dates, cut up - 8 oz
- chopped pecans - 2 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- flour - 1/2 c
- oleo, softened - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
How to make orange slice cake:
Combine the first 5 ingredients and set aside. Mix the oleo, sugar, eggs, soda mixed in buttermilk, flour and salt. Mix and pour over fruit and mix together. Spoon into a 12-cup pan or Bundt pan, greased well. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Take ice pick and punch full of holes while still in pan. Mix 1 cup orange juice and 2 cups powdered sugar. Pour over cake while warm. Leave in pan several hours, then take out.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
