Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- butter - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour
- can coconut - 1 oz
- pecans, chopped - 2 c
- dates, cut into small pieces - 1 lb
- candy orange slices, cut into small pieces - 1 lb
How to make orange slice cake:
Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix soda with buttermilk and add to cake alternately with flour. Stir in dates, orange slices and nuts that have been dredged in a small amount of flour. Add coconut. Bake cake in either a greased and floured tube pan in a 300° oven for 2 hours or a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan in a 250° oven for 2 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
