- sugar - 1 c
- raisins - 1/2 c
- orange juice - 3 Tbsp
- margarine, melted - 1/4 c
- grated orange rind - 1/4 c
- recipe sweet dough - 1 item
- When ready to shape, combine sugar, grated rind and raisins
How to make orange rolls:
Prepare dough. When ready to shape, combine sugar, grated rind and raisins. Divide dough in half. Roll out each half to an 18 x 9-inch rectangle. Brush with melted margarine. Sprinkle with sugar mixture. Roll up from long sides. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices and place in 2 greased 9-inch cake pans. Cover and let rise in warm place free from draft until double in bulk, about 1 hour. Bake at 375° for about 20 to 25 minutes (check time, lightly brown). Remove from pans and frost immediately with Orange Icing.Orange Icing:2 c. sifted powdered sugar3 Tbsp. orange juice Mix powdered sugar with orange juice. Makes a thin icing. Drizzle over warm rolls.
