Ingredients/Components
- egg - 1 item
- tsp salt - 1 item
- cup sugar - 1/4 item
- cups flour - 3 item
- Tbsp grated orange rind - 2 item
- cup cold milk - 1/3 item
- pkg active dry yeast - 1 item
- cup solid shortening - 1/4 item
- cup warm water 105~ - 1/4 item
How to make orange rolls:
Combine flour, shortening, sugar, orange rind, and salt in a bowl. Set aside. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add egg and stir. Add mixture to flour and stir well. Add milk. Stir to combine. On floured surface, knead dough, shape into a large ball and place in a greased bowl. Let rise in warm place free from drafts for about 1 hour or until double in bulk. Punch down and divide into 36 equal pieces. Form into balls. Grease muffin pan. Place 3 balls into each muffin. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°. Bake rolls 15 - 20 minutes or until done. Remove immediately from pan and place on wire rack to cool slightly.Yield: 12 rolls.
