Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- cold water - 2 c
- chicken broth - 1 qt
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- grated Swiss cheese - 1/4 lb
- egg noodles - 2 c
- medium onions, sliced thin - 4 item
How to make onion soup:
Brown onions in melted butter until golden brown. Add broth and water, salt and pepper. Bring to boil 10 minutes. Add egg noodles; cook 30 minutes. Add grated Swiss cheese and let stand until cheese melts.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low cholesterol, Soups & stews.
