  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • margarine - 3/4 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp

How to make old fashioned sugar cookies:

Cream shortening , oil and both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients. Stir in and blend. Form into balls about 1 teaspoon of dough. Roll in sugar. Press down on greased cookie sheet with a glass. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes. These cookies look like a rolled dough cookie with less work. Remove immediately from pan.
