Old fashioned rice pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- cinnamon - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water
- nutmeg - 1 item
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- raisins - 1/4 c
- rice - 1/2 c
How to make old fashioned rice pudding:
Bring water to a boil. Stir in rice and salt. Cover. Simmer until all water is absorbed. Add milk and boil gently, stirring occasionally until thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.Combine eggs, sugar and vanilla in bowl. Gradually stir in rice mix and mix well. Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Stir in raisins and sprinkle with nutmeg and/or cinnamon. Place casserole dish in a pan containing 1-inch hot water. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
