Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• flour - 1/3 c
• butter - 6 Tbsp
• soda - 1 tsp
• cocoa - 1/2 c
• buttermilk - 1 c
• shortening - 2/3 c
• box powdered sugar - 1 item
• Dissolve cocoa and soda in hot water

How to make old fashioned chocolate cake:

Beat sugar, eggs and shortening. Dissolve cocoa and soda in hot water. Beat in sugar mixture. Add flour, buttermilk, soda and vanilla; mix well. Put in well-greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or 3 (8-inch) round pans.Icing:1 stick butter4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. butter1 box powdered sugar vanilla Bring butter, cocoa and butter to a boil. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat.
